黄亞華燒雞翼 (Kuala Lumpur)

After visiting the sky bridge on the 41st and 42nd floors of the Petronas Twin Towers, we went back to the hotel for a short break. In the evening, we visited the Bukit Bintang Plaza which is a shopping plaza with lots of cheap clothing and other merchandize. It is kinda like the Mongkok area in Hong Kong. Then, we went to a famous eating street called Jalan Alor for dinner. This eating street is lined up with many stalls serving hawker food. It comes alive every evening, with lots of people aggressively trying to lure patrons to get business.

We went to the biggest restaurant on Jalan Alor called 黄亞華燒雞翼. This restaurant has many seats inside as well as outside. We chose to sit inside of the restaurant because we are not comfortable sitting outside with so many people walking by.

For starters, we ordered 沙嗲串 (satay skewers) with chicken, beef, and lamb. The satay is slightly too sweet. Among the three types, I like the lamb the most because it is pretty juicy with some fat in it.

Besides the satay skewers, we ordered the 燒魔鬼魚 (barbequed devil rays). The skin is very crispy and is infused with a strong barbequed taste. The fish flesh is still relatively tender even though it is cooked barbeque style.

As suggested by the name, 黄亞華燒雞翼 is most famous for their barbecued chicken wings. Each chicken wing is barbequed by hand per order, and so you need to wait for a long time. However, it is well worth the wait. The skin of the chicken wings is very crispy with a strong soy sauce taste which is not sweet. The chicken wings are cooked just right, brown in color and not burned. They are simply additive, but I know I can’t eat too much of them.
